SYNC Connect Features Will Soon Be Available in Old Ford Models

SYNC Connect, equipped in many new Ford vehicles, gives drivers unprecedented control over their cars. Using a smartphone app, drivers can access the following features:

  • Remote start
  • Lock and unlock
  • Location assistance
  • Security reports
  • Vehicle heath reports
  • Schedule service

But SYNC Connect debuted in 2017, and will become available in more Ford models in 2018. If you bought your car, truck, or SUV in 2016, you're out of luck—or you would be, except that Ford thought of everything!

While developing SYNC Connect as a built-in feature on new models, Ford was also busy developing SmartLink, an accessory that plugs into the OBD II port of model-year 2010 to 2016 vehicles, and turns them into connected machines. Now, the owners of most older Ford and Lincoln models 2010 and newer will have access to the same connectivity features as owners of brand-new 2017 models.

SmartLink is due to arrive in dealerships this summer, so contact Performance Ford Lincoln Bountiful for more information.
