2023 Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang nameplate is more than half a century old and it is more relevant than ever. The world’s most famous muscle car is still going on after 55 years of production, and it is more cutting-edge than ever. With that being said, let’s do a 2023 Mustang review to see how good next year’s model is.

Features

The 2023 Ford Mustang is a part of the 6th generation of the legendary pony car. It offers 6 trim levels and several engine options. It is available in coupe and convertible body styles.

Engine and Numbers

The Ford Mustang 2023 is more powerful than ever and it should offer low running costs as well. The standard engine is a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost that makes a whopping 310 hp. You can get a more powerful EcoBoost by opting for the High Performance package; this setup makes 330 hp.

Muscle car purists will love the 5-liter V8 engine that makes 450 hp. If you get the top trim, aka the Mach 1, the Mustang comes with a modified version of this engine that makes 470 hp. The available transmissions are a 6-speed stick-shift manual and a 10-speed automatic.

The result of all these engines is that the Mustang is able to tear up the drag strip. The expected 0-60 mph time should be around 4 seconds if we look at last year’s model. The Mustang 2023 is also very fuel efficient, with the maximum EPA rating being given as 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.

Interior and Technology

Like its exterior, the interior of the new Mustang 2023 is a contemporary take on the iconic designs of the 1970s Mustangs. It is good to look at and is decent in terms of spaciousness – whether we’re talking about headroom or legroom.

The practicality is a salient feature of this car because it offers a lot of room for storage and is the best in the muscle car class in this regard. Apart from the large trunk, this is also because of the interior storage ability and the stowable backseat.

The following is the standard equipment available on each trim:

2023 Mustang EcoBoost

We begin with the entry-level Mustang, which will also give you a luxurious feeling with its leather-wrapped steering wheel and parking brake lever. It is also well-equipped as there is a manual climate control system, push-button ignition, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The infotainment system comes with 6 speakers and a bunch of power points. The safety systems are plenty and they include a rearview camera, pre-collision assist (w/automated emergency braking), blind-spot monitoring, and a lane-keeping system.

2023 Mustang EcoBoost Premium

The EcoBoost Premium model gets more sophisticated. You get dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, and a 9-speaker sound system.

There are numerous seating upgrades upfront such as 6- and 4-way powered adjustability on the driver and passenger seats respectively. The front seats are also leather-trimmed and they are heated and cooled as well.

2023 Mustang GT

The GT trim is considered to be the heart of any Mustang lineup and this one is no different. Because it is more performance-oriented, it loses some interior features to save weight. The upgrades include sporty bucket seats up front, while the rest of them are found on the powertrain and the exterior.

2023 Mustang GT Premium

The Mustang GT Premium model is essentially the aforementioned high-performing GT trim, but with all the luxuries and amenities intact. It gives you the best of both worlds.

2023 Mustang Mach 1

The Mach 1 is usually the fastest Mustang available and Ford has stripped it down to make it a true driver’s car. So, apart from a 12-inch LCD digital instrument cluster and its unique Mach 1 accents, most of its add-ons are found on the outside and under the hood.

2023 Mustang Mach 1 Premium

The Mach 1 Premium is to the Mach 1 what the GT Premium is to the GT. It is a Mach 1 that retains all the goodies and adds some more like a heated steering wheel.

Exterior and Driving

On the outside, the new Mustang 2023 is as stylish and menacing as ever. The rim sizes available are between 17 and 20 inches. If you’re looking for a totally unique look, then the 2023 Mach 1 is the answer with its colors, accents, and stripes.

The exterior colors on the 2023 Mustang are expected to be the following:

  • Grabber Blue
  • Atlas Blue
  • Rapid Red Metallic/li>
  • Brittany Blue
  • Shadow Black
  • Dark Matter Gray Metallic
  • Iconic Silver Metallic
  • Vapor Blue Metallic
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic
  • Fighter Jet Gray
  • Race Red
  • Oxford White

Before you set your eyes on a trim, ensure that the color you like is available for it.

Anyone will tell you that the new Ford Mustang 2023 is a thrill to drive. Gone are the days when muscle cars were simplistic brutes that could only be driven fast in a straight line. This generation of the Mustang is well known for the way it handles and how comfortable it is.

Reliability and Warranty

The Mustang 2023 hasn’t been rated by JD Power or Consumer Reports. However, the user feedback about the reliability of last year’s model has been positive. So, you can expect this year to also perform well in this area.

Ford’s limited warranty of 3 years/36 miles and powertrain warranty of 5 years/60k miles should make you more confident though.

Verdict

So, that was the Ford Mustang 2023 – a true representative of what a Mustang should be, but with a lot more added value. It is fast but it is also good at handling; it is powerful, but it is fuel-efficient; it is priced reasonably, but it is also very luxurious on the inside.

The new Mustang 2023 offers a no-nonsense driving experience with its GT and Mach 1 trims. At the same time, it also lets the more casual drivers have fun when they want to, while also enjoying a posh cabin, with the Premium versions of these trim levels.
